Everyone who knew thought I would struggle when I laid down the weight of my career. But in fact, just the opposite happened. For the first time since I was a child - I felt free. Perspective is everything. I didn't lose an identity when I retired, I finally was able to be who I really was. Not doing - but being. I think it might be harder for men to disassociate themselves from their work/careers. Our society makes it hard for them to focus on any other aspect in their life that could be called 'success'. Women suffer a bit from that as well, but we are the tribe builders of society. We don't go it alone.
