Today is my birthday. It’s official — I’m a senior citizen. Today I turned 65. However, I’ve been practicing being 65 since December 1st when Medicare kicked in.
I have a lot of friends who happen to be born at this time of year. Sagittarius’ seem to gravitate towards each other. We’re fun — but we can be tough. Other Sags get this about us. No one has to translate for us and it’s just easier to be around people who get you.
And one of the things my other Sag friends get is how special this time of year is. For all of our lives, we’ve waited for December to arrive.
For us, there is no mid-year celebration of our birth to break up the calendar. For us All. The. Things. happen in December. Coming off a Thanksgiving-induced food coma — we regroup and push forward to make sure December IS the most wonderful time of the year.
I have always loved December — and Christmas. My mother’s birthday was Christmas Eve and that day remains my most favorite one of all the rest. Christmas Eve is the pinnacle of December festivities! All the prep work is done, the halls are decked, the tree is lit, and all the presents are wrapped. The anticipation of Santa’s arrival has everyone on the edge of their seats waiting for that glorious moment on Christmas Day when the children’s eyes glow with surprise and joy.
