Awesome point. Surrender — complete surrender means you have no say -no faith — no trust in the outcome. You don’t know if you’re going to be ok. Maybe you won’t be.
I think humans are hard wired with a seed of Hope though for a reason. We resist the total state of unconditional surrender if it means we have to hand over that seed of Hope. Faith & Trust in our Journey allow us to keep Hope.
If it were not necessary for us as a species, why would Hope survive? Hope survives. It survives the most vicious of circumstances. Even onto the dreams for future generations — Hope is there.
A while ago I had an experience of total surrender to an emotion and placed my foot on a path in front of me. It does not matter the outcome of this journey — the surrender was complete. But — not unconditional perhaps — for I still carry with me Hope. And Trust. And Faith.
