At 63, I feel like my age is about median to the group. I am blessed by not too many physical issues and am probably at the upper end of the scale of physically fit for the class. But I can look around see women with 8 & 10 pound weights easily doing the same bicep curls that I’m doing with my 5 pound weights. The instructor is key. She has been with these folks long enough & will suggest modifications. To get our heart rates up — we march & do some line dancing steps. Anything requiring balance — she encourages us to hang on to our chairs. All of the work with weights & tubes are done sitting on the chairs. I also have taken line-dancing classes (pretty much same group of ladies), yoga, & attended Mahjong sessions. The socialization as well as the physical & mental stimulation has added so much quality to my life. I hope you have a wonderful time — I adore my senior center.
