A friend of mine sent me this meme on FB — I also thought it was rather brilliant & was the inspiration for this piece. :) My friends in the LGBTQ+ community have the same lament. Perhaps at our age, the compromise necessary to form a strong pair bond just isn’t in our wheel house any longer? I know I’m much less likely to compromise for the sake of a relationship as I’ve gotten older/stronger/wiser.
